Degrees (Angles)

We can measure Angles in Degrees.

In that location are 360 degrees in one Full Rotation (i complete circle effectually).

(Angles tin likewise be measured in Radians)

(Note: "Degrees" can also mean Temperature, only here we are talking about Angles)

The Degree Symbol: °

Nosotros use a lilliputian circumvolve ° following the number to hateful degrees.

For case xc° means 90 degrees

Full Circle Degrees

The Full Circumvolve

A Full Circle is 360°

One-half a circumvolve is 180°
(called a Directly Angle)

Quarter of a circumvolve is 90°
(called a Right Angle)

question

Why 360 degrees? Probably because old calendars (such as the Western farsi Agenda) used 360 days for a year - when they watched the stars they saw them revolve effectually the North Star ane degree per day.

Also 360 can exist divided exactly past 2, iii, 4, 5, 6, eight, nine, ten, 12, 15, 18, 20, 24, thirty, 36, 40, 45, 60, 72, xc, 120 and 180, which makes a lot of basic geometry easier.

Measuring Degrees

We often measure degrees using a protractor:

Protractor
The normal protractor measures 0° to 180°

Full Circle Protractor

At that place are as well full-circle protractors.

But they are non as usually used considering they are a fleck big and don't do anything special.
