Starting a sticker shop advice

So far I haven't seen this exact question asked already but, if I were to start selling stickers, do you think it would be better to gain a following of people that want to buy it first? Or just go at it?

I have designs made but I'm nervous to start. I get that you just need to be lucky with these sort of things but any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for the feedback! I've been posting some images on Instagram so I'd like to like I have a small following but it's hard to gauge if they'd be interested in purchasing them or if they're just bots hahaha. But you made a really good point about being established.

Just put em up. I don't really have a following but I wanted to sell stickers I had made. Only 7 sales so far but a lot of favorites so that's something 😆 but yeh, don't worry about having a following right away, it'll come as you put things up :D

Forget about luck! You just try, analyze the results of your try, change things if you need to, try again - repeat. And never stop experimenting, changing, and learning!

I don't know where this idea came from that business is about luck. It makes people scared to try! Just try! And if you make a mistake or something doesn't sell or you get an angry customer - don't feel bad - just learn from it and keep getting better!

Just go at it. Keep adding as many listings as you can. You'll see that some items will get more views and others will be ignored. Make more of what people are liking in your shop. Some shop owners get attached to products or designs that they personally like but people don't. Then they keep renewing and pushing in an effort to get people to like those items. Don't waste your time on that.

We started in August with zero social media, zero selling experience, even zero friends and family to be our first sales (they live in another country with outrageous shipping $$$). We're on our way to 150 sales now. Not too shabby for newbies starting from scratch.
